Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire: Derbyshire Market Towns social media workshops

Gravity Digital was engaged to deliver a series of tailor-made social media workshops for a number of market towns in Derbyshire’s Peak District for Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire (MPDD).

MPDD is an arm of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, the official tourist board for the centrally-located attract destination.  The organisation is dedicated to promoting the area as a destination to regional, national and international travellers to help boost the local tourism economy.

Recognising that social media plays a vital role in engaging with travellers and visitors, MPDD created a programme of workshops that incorporated this as one of the themes.  The wider programme aims to support local businesses and SMEs to encourage them to recognise the value in the visitor economy and how they could best exploit this.

The social media workshops took participants first through strategically working with others and developing an editorial plan to give structure to their activities.   The session then covered off techniques for creating great conversations, higher engagement and repeat visitors to drive customers and increase sales.

The programme of social media workshops were delivered in the market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Belper, Bolsover, Buxton, Glossop, Matlock and Matlock Bath, Swadlincote, Wirksworth
