Tell us about a typical day here at Gravity

After a coffee (or two) I review the priorities of the day and communicate with various members of the team to make sure we are all on track. As a business manager, my responsibilities are delightfully diverse, often requiring me to adapt to shifting priorities on a daily basis. Engaging with suppliers and clients through phone calls, emails and meetings is a fundamental aspect of my day. I also work closely with Sharon, overseeing all aspects of our work including websites, email marketing and social media. Each day presents a new fresh challenge!

What would you say is your strongest skill?

My strongest skill lies in juggling multiple responsibilities, making organisation essential in my role! I also love communicating and regularly enjoy catching up with clients discussing their plans and feeding ideas into their marketing.

What is the best thing about your job?

I love the diversity of my job. We work with a broad range of clients and subjects – so each day can bring something new to the table. Personally, I love talking to people and having face-to-face meetings. I believe that personable interaction is great for sustaining valuable working relationships between clients and the team.

What do you think is most important in being a business manager?

The most important element of my role is communication within the team. Each member here at Gravity has lots of different priorities, as do our clients, so it is important to make sure everyone knows about deadlines and schedules of ongoing projects. It’s also very handy to be forward-thinking and stay ‘in the know’ of industry trends.

How did you get into marketing?

I used to work in sales in the property sector and put my career on hold to look after my children. Six years ago I was offered a job at Gravity, and I’ve never looked back!
